The eyes have it and other #R2BC
Written by Jeannette
I haven't linked up with Mich with my Reasons To Be Cheerful for a couple of week - http://goo.gl/VsJGYp - for no reason other than I haven't had time/mojo.
The children have been individually finding it challenging to settle into their new classes; T because he's now in year 6 and he's having issues with the fact he won't know his secondary school until next March, and D because she's in a class with her nemesis of two years ago and the problems from then still remain.
But...putting a positive spin on it, here are my #R2BC this week:
1. I am loving having the time to listen to music, something I really missed during the holidays. There is a funny little deserted shortcut I take to D's school and I have my earworms in, something singing along, knowing no-one is around to wonder which cat is wailing and why. Of course, once I reach school, I become "D's Mumma" but for those 15 minutes there, it's lovely.
2. My lovely Hubbie has a birthday next week and he's choosing his top record (or two) for my Music Monday next week, he's enjoying revisiting records and sharing the memories that they envoke.
3. I had a little pampering session and it was wonderful. I am very fair and have always wanted defined eyebrows (not in a thick drawn-on way, but subtle). I've had eyebrow tints before and they've come out too dark and D has hated it, telling me I look like a vampire or a witch.
I had semi-permanent make-up put on, here's my before picture:
Not very defined, tend to fade into nothing, don't they?
And here's the after picture, I have a follow-up appointment in 4 weeks but I'm really pleased with them:
They're not too dark and D thinks they're "funny and bizarre" but definitely not scary.
This also ties in nicely with @kateonthinice's #GiveMumsABreak initiative.
4. Lastly, I lost my blogging mojo a bit over the last couple of weeks, I needed a bit of J-time after the school holidays, it feels like it's coming back now.
Wishing everyone a wonderful week Jx
